I’m ashamed to admit I used to be a Scrooge.
Yep.
I dreaded the holidays because they just seemed to put so much extra stress in my life. It was overflowing already. As a military spouse and a homeschooling mama with four kiddos in eight years, I didn’t have time for the mythical bonbons that some talk of.
I wanted peace. PEACE.
I’d love to send you the simple PDF of this series, Simplify Your Holidays, found in my resource library with other fabulous freebies. You can access it at the bottom of this post.
Christmas was supposed to be PEACEFUL and JOYFUL. Remember Peace on Earth? We even sing songs about it. All the gift buying and party going and goodie baking and time constraints were NOT bringing me peace. I was constantly frazzled and grumpy.
I didn’t want to ruin Christmas for my family.
It took me a while to figure out that my planner brought me peace. It took the stress out of my brain. The simple act of writing down my plans gave my brain a strange peacefulness. It gave me control.
Yesterday we talked about Step One, evaluating your calendars and putting them in a prominent place where you can view it and change it often. So now I will ask…….
Are your calendars loaded and filled in?
Today is even easier.
Today’s homework is finding or buying a small notebook to act as your brain.
That’s it.
Odds are you have some small notebook lying around in your home. Raid your kids’ rooms. Don’t buy one unless you have to. Stop by the drug store on the way home and grab a small notebook, spiral or otherwise, that is small enough to fit nicely in your bag or purse, maybe 5×7 or so? Smaller if you write small.
Tomorrow I’m going to help you download your holiday brain into it.
I’ve learned this step will help you find holiday peace.
Make no mistake, Jesus is the only one who can truly give you Peace. I just want to free your mind and life this holiday season so you can truly focus on HIM.
Let’s do this.
Be ready for Step Three tomorrow!
